Topic > Compare The Giver A Dystopian Society - 1153

Having different abilities, physical appearance, social status, etc. can make a person stand out. On the other hand, we have equality which gives all different equal rights that everyone can have in our society. In The Giver, it demonstrates a strong element of equality where their government is trying to make everything similar or the same. Everything must always be according to the same pattern and everything must be done precisely. Society has been deprived of the possibility of making everything equal, so much so that it even eliminated people's gender. They make citizens take the pills only so that they do not feel any feelings of lust towards other people in whom unnecessary reproduction does not occur. In The Hunger Games, uniqueness is encouraged and promoted. Everyone is far from similar, even though there are 12 districts that divide huge groups of people. Each district has a different purpose, but only the Capitol, where only the rich and fortunate citizens live, benefits greatly. Unlike the other novel, in the Giver the society gets the benefits and everyone helps each other without knowing what the reality is
