Topic > A Modest Proposal: On Preventing Illegal Immigration...

The gates of the land of America have been left wide open and with the gentle southern breeze flowing within comes the risk of a host of diseases and political and economic failures and violence. These are brought in by illegal immigrants from Mexico who enter the country by the millions without a second thought. Americans are forced to pay high taxes at the price of citizenship, many swimming in poverty and struggling to survive as the infestation of illegal Mexican immigrants takes away jobs and feeds on government services paid for by well-meaning citizens. At the same time, these aliens often start gangs, bringing violence that affects the daily lives of hard-working Americans as they fight for ground that wasn't even theirs to begin with. There is only one possible solution to this problem, and that is to end all illegal Mexican immigration, and that is to expand the borders of the United States beyond Mexico. With an untapped workforce of over forty-eight million, an abundance of natural resources, and an inferior government, Mexico is simply ripe for the picking. The conquest of Mexican America will undoubtedly involve the enslavement of the people and the development of resources and land. This will not only effectively end illegal immigration pouring across our vast southern border, but also an incredible opportunity for the United States to prosper economically, politically, and socially. Perhaps there are few qualms associated with taking over a rather large country; however, our army will easily overwhelm that of the Mexican government. With advanced covert technology, brilliant strategic advisors, and a much larger force, we shouldn't have many documents...immediately. With the founding of Mexican America, illegal immigrants from Mexico would no longer be a topic of concern to the American people and government, allowing them to focus on much more important issues. Unless someone in the seemingly intelligent and cooperative government can come up with a better plan than mine, there will be no choice but to conquer the country of Mexico. However, my motivations behind this plan are simply to see this country succeed in a multitude of ways, and I have no personal connection to the issue of illegal immigration. I am native, not of Mexican descent, and have no personal relationships with those who have immigrated here illegally. I am therefore not prejudiced against those who have done so, and if it turns out so in the plan I have proposed, I can assure you that it is entirely for the good of America.
